Bedtime Gummies

Healthy Gummies that promote and improve sleep!

I have talked before about the benefits of gelatin, and gummies are are tasty way of getting in our daily dose. I don’t allow my kids to have the store bought, sugar laden, artificially colored “fruit snacks” that are so popular, but these gummies are a healthy, easy, and delicious alternative!

I make a lot of different flavored gummies for the kids to enjoy, but these ones are specifically for bedtime.  My bedtime gummies are made with tart cherry juice. Tart cherries are known for their high levels of melatonin, which is important for improving sleep ease and quality.  We all seem to go to sleep easier and have a more restful night after indulging in these treats. The kids love them and look forward to getting one each night.

Bedtime Gummies

1/4 cup tart cherry juice concentrate here
4 cups coconut water here
4 T ginger juice
1/2 cup raw honey or maple syrup
2 T natural calm magnesium  here
1/2 cup gelatin powder find here

Make ginger juice by pureeing about 2 thumbs sized chunks of fresh ginger with 1/4 c water. Strain mixture and use reserved juice.

In a saucepan stir the juices and honey. Sprinkle the gelatin over top and let sit for one minute. Turn heat on to medium/low and stir until the gelatin is dissolved. Do not let the mixture become hot, keep it lukewarm. Once the gelatin is completely dissolved, quickly pour into molds or a baking dish and cool till firm. It will firm up faster in the fridge.

These are so yummy, and I love that they not only help you get to sleep, but support your body in detoxing as well. I can really tell a positive difference in our quality of sleep when we have one or two each night before bed, and as a Mama, I appreciate that when it comes to my kids!
